Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Nikki has been adopted! 06-19-2007

Female about 0 old.

Nikki is a gorgeous black & cream German shepherd female with beautiful markings and warm brown eyes. She is a large, lovely, and very affectionate 2 year old. Nikki was saved from a very high-kill shelter on her last day. Nikki jumped happily into her rescuer’s truck and smiled out the windows at every passing car all the way to her new foster home. She spent her first afternoon of freedom helping her foster family in the garden, watching everything going on with great interest.

Nikki is curious, bright, and eager to please. She loves playing ball with her new foster dog friends and would be great at the dog park or dog beach, but she is equally happy to just be around her people and laze around the house. Nikki is well behaved inside and outside the house, is housebroken, and is great on a leash. She knows how to sit and come on command, and is trained to use a doggie door. She sleeps through the night, in or out of a crate, without a peep.

Nikki is a complete love-bug with people of all ages and sizes, from the tiniest babies to elderly adults. Nikki just LOVES to be with people. She is extremely loyal and devoted to her foster family, including the 7 year old child in the family. Nikki loves to follow him around and be a part of whatever is happening in his life, trotting happily along his side to the next adventure – be it a game of ball or just sitting and watching TV together.

She is equally good with other dogs too and has been in a foster home with four other shepherds, males and females, and gets along great with all of them. Nikki is all about affection toward her pack, canine and human alike. Come meet Nikki! She is an athletic, attentive, playful, and happy girl who will make a lucky family a wonderful pet.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
