Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Skipper has been adopted! 08-10-2007

Female about 0 old.

Skipper was brought to our attention at a multiple dog rescue event. Brought from a high kill shelter, he hadn't found a home by the end of the day and his prospects were dim. The shelter approached us to help them and we had to figure out how to find a spot for him.

Skippers first week was a bit rough (for him) - he was taken out for walks with our caring volunteers but any new movements scared him into immobility.

We decided that Skipper needed a more confident dog to room with...he's been rooming with Twinkle (no wallflower - that's for sure!!!) and what a difference a week makes!!!! Skipper can go on walks now with confidence and joy. He LOVES to be out and literally 'skips' along to see what new adventure awaits him!!! He LOVES other dogs, especially the ladies. He responds well to positive correction and is a fast learner.

Skipper's ideal home will have another dog, definitely a female, and a human family that wants to take him through obedience.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
