Gentle Ben has been adopted! 01-01-2007

Female about 0 old.

Gentle Ben is a big boy who loves to be cuddled. He is approximately 3-4 years old white “almost full” German Shepherd. From his facial features and larger size, he also might have some Pyrenees mixed in. Regardless, he was sure worth saving to us!

Ben came from a shelter in Banning; he is relatively new to our rescue and is learning his way around a new foster home. He currently lives with 3 other dogs (2 females and another large male). He doesn’t appear to have an aggressive bone in his body. Although his foster siblings are all German Shepherds, we suspect Gentle Ben would do well with animals of all sizes (possibly even fine with kitties too).

Although he isn’t sure how to play with the other dogs (he has been barking at his foster siblings to attempt to interact), with a consistent routine and patience, we feel he will fit in almost any environment. He is a sensitive guy and needs a warm introduction to his new family – both from the humans and other animals (he is intimidated if put with too dominate a dog). Bennie is easily discouraged if he does not feel included – basically a sweet heart that easily gets his feelings hurt! He returns any affection and has a curious disposition.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
