River has been adopted! 10-11-2007

Female about 0 old.

We're not sure why River was relinquished to a high kill shelter, but we are pretty certain it's not because there's something wrong with him. It's more likely that there was something wrong with the humans involved. At his foster home he is doing his best to earn the title of Best Dog Ever.

He's attached to his foster mom, but isn't needy about it. He's mellow, but not lethargic. He's equally happy to accompany you on a walk or curl up to watch TV. River sleeps peacefully on the floor in the bedroom with the other dogs, and has not caused a single problem with his foster siblings. (That's him and Bentley chilling together on the couch.) He's completely housebroken, and is just an all around good dog!

If you're looking for an easy going, mature gentleman for a companion who is past the rebellious teenage stage and is ready to settle down and be your best friend, please consider River.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
