Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Rocky has been adopted! 01-01-2007

Female about 0 old.

Rocky is absolutely gorgeous - his previous owner had him from the time he was a puppy (a present from his family), but Rocky needs a lot more exercise and interaction than he was able to provide. Thankfully, groups like Coastal can act as a safety net and alternative to high kill shelters for dogs like Rocky.

Rocky gets along spectacularly with other dogs, even Pomeranians. With humans, once he trusts you, he is your forever friend! He is leery of strangers and not really interested in meeting new people (although if you take him for a quick walk, you get to enter his inner circle). Rocky needs a home where someone will understand his challenge with trust.

Rocky's ideal home will be with someone who has previous experience with German Shepherds and preferably with advanced training because we think he will EXCEL in activities that will engage his wonderful mind. Rocky will probably knock over small kids so we think he will be happier with teenagers and above.

This is a spectacular boy with tremendous potential. He is currently in a foster home with five other dogs. He will sleep through the night in his crate (however he has graduated to sleeping next to the bed) and he is very polite about food.

Rocky's adoption fee is $500. His tax deductible donation will allow us to help less fortunate dogs.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
