Quaid has been adopted! 10-22-2008

Female about 0 old.

Ever wonder where the "perfect" dog is? The dog that kisses babies gently on the toes, ignores barky dogs and turns a confident head, takes treats gently with no teeth felt, sits on commands and stays until you tell him to move. Well, believe it or not, this perfection in a dog is homeless. How can this be you might ask?

In Quaid's case we truly do not know how he could have ended up as a stray only to be placed on death row in a county animal shelter. We can only piece together his history, which probably includes being imported as a puppy and purchased for a pretty penny.

Quaid is a sable GSD with the classic structure of a Czech import. He has had formal obedience and probably completed classes with honors. His coat was worn and matted from his days on the streets, although with a bath and shine it became clear that Quaid had been an indoor dog for the bulk of his ears--no callouses on this guys elbows! At roughly 6, Quaid is now looking forward to the next stage of his life. We are seeking someone who deserves the company of this regal boy and can appreciate the beauty and intelligence of a boy like Quaid.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
