Nora has been adopted! 09-11-2010
Nora is approximately 2 years old and a sweetheart of a dog! Nora was skin and bones, using all her resources to care for her unborn babies. Her foster family has done wonders in getting Nora back into tip top condition after a rough pregnancy. She has put on some much needed weight and she is regaining her confidence. She is crate trained and has started going on regular pack walks. She is great with dogs of all sizes and has even been introduced to the family cat. Sweet Nora would love a human family to call her own! Update 8/06/10
Nora lost a lot of hair initially but after her bath today I believe we have finally turned the corner. It was the first bath that not half of her was left over the drain when she got out. The hair would just come out by the fist fulls. Her weight is great and she's still getting two walks a day with the packs of dogs I walk. Her "udders" are slowly disappearing. They hung really low. I was concern she might need a "breast lift" but she improves every week. She's very calm and well behaved in the house. A perfect lady.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
