Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Zoe may have a new home.
Adoption pending

Female German Shepherd Dog /Labrador Retriever mix about 3-5 years old. Gets along with other dogs.

Zoe is around 5 years old, great in the house, potty trained, is living with and gets along with large and small dogs, and adores going on long walks. The home best for Zoe will be one with shepherd experience who knows how to apply structure so that she doesn't get overprotective of her people. She's playful, sweet, and loves her people.

Zoe can love one particular person in a family too much and can try to guard that person from the other members of the family, if allowed. The home that will work best for Zoe would be one where all of the members of the family take turns feeding her, walking her, and training her. Zoe can be stubborn but is very trainable.

Zoe has also gained a large amount of weight since living in her foster home. She tries to eat the other dogs food in the foster home. She gets some exercise but not enough to help keep her weight down. Lots of dog walking would help Zoe lose the weight before it affects her health.

Anyone who adopts Zoe will get a very loving dog, a loyal companion, but will also need to set limits and watch her diet.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
