Astro is available ( Updated 05-27-2017 )

Male German Shepherd Dog about 3-5 years old.

Astro is an absolutely total sweetheart of a boy. Sadly, his prior owners turned him in to the shelter because he had diarrhea. We've had him see a couple of our fantastic vets and he is on the mend now.

There is a chance that he has something called "Perianal Fistulas"... It's only really common in German Shepherds for some reason and no one knows why. With the proper medication and diet, it can be managed very easily (my own German Shepherd had them and was fine for 12 years after we just got her on the right food!). He will need an owner who is committed to monitoring his health carefully and he should be just fine and return the favor tenfold with lots of love!

Could you be the right home for Astro and give him the loving home he deserves?

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
