Shelby is available ( Updated 04-23-2017 )
Shelby was rescued off the streets by a good Samaritan that noticed her living on her own for a long time. Most likely, she was abandoned or dumped because she pretty much stayed in the same area.
There were no signs or posts of her family looking for her and of course she had no collar or microchip. We couldn't stand the idea of her living on the streets and knew we had to help.
She was super scared and shy when we first rescued her. She's coming around, but it will take some time and repeated exposure to what a normal life a dog should lead. Her ears stand up, but when we photographed her she was even scared for that so didn't get many great pictures.
Her tail goes a mile a minute - like a helicopter! We think she's just confused right now and we believe that she may even be cat friendly, but can't say for sure just yet. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She will need a calm, patient home that will give her time to adjust and we think she will be an amazing dog before you know it.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
