Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Lexi has been adopted! 09-11-2010

Female about 0 old.

Looking to add a pup to your pack? Look no further! Lexi and Maxine are two stunning girls who are ready to move into their forever homes.

At 9 weeks old, these little ladies found themselves hours away from ending up at a county animal shelter. Thanks to the swift work by an animal control officer (and friend of Coastal!), we were able to rescue them in time. Their previous owner bred his shepherds and planned to turn the pups into dollars. He quickly realized that pups take a lot of work and it costs a lot to care for them properly. We are currently working with the owner to have his dogs spayed and neutered.

Maxine and Lexi are playful, sweet and endearing. They love to play with young children and other dogs. We are looking for homes with another dog as both of these girls are going to be best with a canine role model! Lexi is more outgoing and bold....she loves to entice the big dogs in her foster home! She has just found her voice as well and gives a play bark from time to time. Maxine is slightly more reserved and is shy at first. She loves to follow the big dogs around and copy their behavior. She also likes to find a shady spot and gnaw on branches, toys, sticks....you name it.

Both of these pups will make wonderful family pets! They are both learning house rules and sleep nicely in a crate at night.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
